RPX provided audiometers and small medical equipment to Family Medicine Centers in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Pure tone screening audiometer is simple, reliable equipment and has 92 % specificity in detecting ototoxicity hearing loss. TB DOTS room nurse learned how to use audiometer and can perform threshold screening audiogram for TB patients. RPX TB project delivered 6 audiometers to FMC and TB hospitals to improve DOTS treatment outcomes. RPX will continue audiometry training and will supply 5 audiometers in 2017.
